WARRIOR'S GROUND 2 - PRIDE - (Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada) October 22nd,
2005
The promotions team of Steinbach's 'SMO Muay Thai' put together a small but very successful fight night on this day. Scheduled were 15 amateur Kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts.
In the Main Event and battled under Kickboxing Rules, Lindsay Rae (Calgary, Mike Miles) squared off in his first fight against the experienced Abe 'Dangerous' Neufeld (Steinbach SMO). This turned out to be an outstanding bout with Rae looking like a very experienced athlete. Rae was sharp intercepting, making Neufeld miss, and putting together some impressive combinations. The result was an unanimous decision for Rae.
On the under card:
Modified Muay Thai - Adam Kolozetti (Calgary, Miles) made his fight debut against Mike d'Arcys (Selkirk, Triumph). Two big heavyweights who were itching to bang it out. The fight was very exciting and Kolozetti pulled off some exceptional kicking and kneeing techniques. d'Arcy's seemed to lose steam each round while the Calgarian applied more and more pressure. The result was an unanimous decision for Kolozetti.
Another Kickboxing Rules bout featured Mike Musto (Calgary, Smandych) squaring off against Bryce Offenberger . Musto looked very calm and composed. He controlled the ranges very well and was to walk away with an unanimous decision in this bout.
Kickboxing Rules - Peter Arbeau (Calgary, Miles) stepped into the ring against John Goertzen (Steinbach / SMO). This was an action packed bout. Offenberger looked confident and moved very well winning the bout by unanimous decision.
The first bout involving an athete from Calgary was battled under Kickboxing Rules. It featured Michelle Easton (Calgary, Miles) fighting against Bridget Riquelme (Steinbach, SMO). This was a rock 'em, sock 'em encounter with the edge travelling back and forth between the two athletes. Though who was in the lead was to ebb and flow between the two athletes, Easton was to walk away with a split decision.
