Alberta, Canada) November 3rd, 2005
Presented by Brad Wall, Trevor Hardy, and Progressive Fighting Academy.
Bout Five: Modified Muay Thai (3 x 2 min.) 145 lbs.
Daniel Ferguson (Pride Gym – Trail) vs. Mike Roberts (Mike Miles Muay Thai – Calgary)
Both fighters put on a great first round trading punches and kicks before falling into the clinch to knee.
Daniel was more busy in the clinch with his knees, but Mike was able to sweep Daniel late in round one. At 23
seconds of round two Daniel rocked Mike with a left hook dropping him to the canvas for the win by TKO.
Bout Nine – Main Event: Pro Muay Thai (5 x 2 min.) 170 lbs.
Ait ‘The Snake’ Said (Diamond Deckers Gym – Holland) vs. Trevor ‘TNT’ Smandych (Mike Miles Muay Thai
– Calgary)
Known for being a notorious slow starter, the much taller Ait kept his range and even frustrated Trevor
throughout the first round. Ait surprised Trevor by landing at least 5 jump knees to TNT’s sternum. Ait also used
his reach to tiip Trevor away and land punches. The first round was the Dutch athletes.
In round two, Trevor came out a little too fast trying to corner the Dutch athlete. Twenty two seconds into
round two Trevor charged at Ait, dipping down to throw his left body hook. Ait took advantage of this and landed
another jump knee flush to the cheek of Trevor, dropping him to the canvas for win by TKO. Trevor got up was on
very wobbly feet. The referee decided to stop the match. "It was a very solid knee and Trevor was very wobbly, but
being a professional, he should have been given a chance to see if in fact he could continue," said coach Mike Miles.
