ROY LILLEY - "Roy was an incredible athlete and an outstanding individual. His personality would shine through like a beacon and all types of people would be attracted to him. Roy tragically passed away one day after destroying his opponent from Germany on the last fight card of 1993 - October 16th, 1993. Tributes and notes of condolences still arrive from around the world. Canada gained added recognition and respect through his efforts and accomplishments on the world scene of Kickboxing and Thai Boxing. He fought three times for a World Title, winning 2 times and was preparing for a fourth World Title shot at the World Cup in Boxe Francaise-Savate. In the Orient, he was revered as the ‘Great White-Faced Fighting God’, a lean, mean fighting machine. I have trained thousands of people and this man was a true champion in every respect of the word. There is more to being a champion than wearing a title belt. This man was humble and polite and knew in his heart how good of a fighter he was. He trusted my word and we both knew he was in for big things in a short and mutually calculated amount of time. He was the best all around fighter I ever trained because of his respectful attitude, trust in my judgement, desire to learn and his dedication. I miss this champion, this man, and more importantly, my friend." Mike Miles - 1994
