Trevor Smandych (Mike Miles Muay Thai – Calgary) vs. Alex Arnell (Budo Kai - Springfield USA)
Alex came out strong, while Smandych took his time. As Alex was setting for a hard shot, Smandych moved in and delivered a vicious left body hook which dropped the American for the count. Smandych was to win by KO (body) at 1:06 of round one. The audience was able to hear the sound of the impact of the punch throughout the huge venue. "Wow, that (punch) was solid! Very nice punch to end up the fight! Wish the bout would have went longer because I know Alex has lots of experience from fighting around the world. Trevor needed more (ring) time.", said coach Mike Miles.
